NIGERIA NOT YOUR CONQUERED TERRITORY, OHANAEZE TELLS NORTHERN LEADERS.

Ohanaeze, which condemned the northern leaders’ opposition to calls for the restructuring of Nigeria, insisted that “all sections of the country are joint and equal partners.” Addressing journalists after a National Executive Committee meeting at Ohanaeze Secretariat in Enugu, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, said northern leaders were acting as if Nigeria was their conquered territory. Ohanaeze was particularly miffed at the rejection of the recommendations of the 2014 constitutional conference by a group of northern leaders, led by Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu. “Some northern leaders, in their utterances, give the impression that our nation is their conquered territory. God forbid! “We should all be joint and equal partners in a common bid to build a united, virile and strong country. “Not too long ago, a group of northern leaders met in Abuja and through their spokesperson, Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu, made very strong views on the national discourse. “Th

Buhari should address Nigerians to douse tension – AIED

A non-governmental organization, Advocacy for Integrity and Economic Development (AIED), has implored President Muhammadu Buhari to address the nation in a live and interactive broadcast to douse tension across the country over the state of his health. In a statement signed by its Director of Research &Publicity, Comrade O’Seun John, the group stated that the request has become expedient in light of rumours and counter rumours ranging from incapacitation, disorientation and even death. According to AIED, the cacophony of defenses, which more than often have turned out to be false, is doing more harm than good to waning goodwill left in the Buhari’s administration. AIED said: “Today, the fragile fabric of peace and unity of our great country, Nigeria, is on the vestiges of ruin. The continuous non-appearance of President Muhammadu Buhari from sworn duties and the reports of cabal infiltration of the seat of power is not only worrisome but negates the tenets of democratic rul

So it is not correct for anybody to say that the embassy is shut down; there was nothing like that. “But there was a sit-in by some local staff who said they would not work  over some arrears but it wasn’t as if the embassy was shut down. “Even some of those who were supposed to embark on sit-in were still working and did not join their colleagues. “They have been paid up till March 2017 but there were some arrears of October to December 2016 that were yet to be paid. “It was just an agitation to draw attention to the three months arrears owed them but not only them, some ministry staff were also affected. “But what they have do

Vice President’s Press Release In Speech Detailing Progress In President Buhari’s Economic Plan

PROTOCOL First, let me say how very honored I am to be here again at “The Platform,” this yearly event that I make a point of attending so long as I am invited! And I thank the pastor because he has been inviting me since 2009. It is indeed a very useful way of communicating our ideas and also getting very useful feedbacks. We live in one of the most important nations in the world by many standards. A nation of 170 million of some of the smartest people on the face of the earth: Acres of arable land, natural resources of every kind from precious metals to natural harbours and breath-taking coastlines, a strong and growing army of digital natives doing incredibly innovative things. For example, we are developing perhaps the most sophisticated animation technology expertise in Africa, a group of young persons are doing that. Our music and entertainment industry is the fastest growing in the world today. Nigerian Writers have won every prize in literature from the Nobel to, just
